IPTV is a major business opportunity for a wide variety of stakeholders. In order to seek to address issues of conformance to ITU IPTV standards and interoperability of products, ITU is organizing a set of Interop events on IPTV in accordance with the Council-09 decision to implement
WTSA Resolution 76. The 1st and 2nd ITU IPTV Interop events were held
in Geneva in July 2010 and
in Singapore in September 2010. These events demonstrated the maturity of ITU IPTV standards as well as increased cooperation with organizations engaged in IPTV.
This workshop will facilitate dialogue among various stakeholders, such as IPTV experts, laboratories, regulators, broadcasters, telecoms companies, manufactures, system integrators, contents providers, end-users and others, to share information and
to further promote cooperation between organizations interested in IPTV deployment. The ITU experience gained through the past ITU IPTV Interop events and perspective for the future ones will also be shared.
