Digital Bridge

"Digital Bridge", the follow-up project of the Youth Forum Asia 2002, was implemented together with a subset of students and Tel-Aviv University. The project was designed to open up the world of ICTs to Arab and Jewish young people in a challenged neighborhood. On one hand, the project brought the knowledge of ICT to youth who otherwise would have been deprived insight into this vital and strategic for their development area of knowledge. On the other hand, it promoted a dialogue between the two groups with the help of ICT. Based on testimonies from children participated in the project and principals of the involved schools, the initiative was recognized as success, acquiring wide appreciation in the community.

"... We would like to thank the ITU-D/Youth Program for its support in the implementation of our project, which was an important step towards bridging the digital divide and fostering intercultural dialogue. This support shows ITU's deep trust and believe in the youth as future leaders of the ICT industry..." Dmitry Epstein (Youth Forum Asia 2002 alumnus), Jenny Komanovsky and Michael Gofman - coordinators of the "Digital Bridge".
