Group of
Member States on the review and consolidation of
provisions regarding observers
Terms of
Reference
The ITU Plenipotentiary
Conference, by its Resolution 109 (Marrakesh, 2002), decided to set up a
group of Member States with the following terms of reference:
1)
to review all relevant provisions of the basic texts of the Union
concerning
observers; and
2)
to prepare a report for consideration by the 2004 session of the
Council, including recommendations regarding the status of Sector Member
observers to the Council, to be implemented by the Council on a
provisional basis.
Participation
This
group is open to all Member States of the ITU.
Chairmanship
The
Group is chaired by Ms. Janis Doran (Canada). (Circular Letter No. 03 (E/F/S)
was sent on 28 April 2003 to Member States to inform them of the
appointment of a Chairman and to designate an expert to participate in
the work of the Group).
