One of the duties of the Plenipotentiary Conference is to elect the top management of the organization. There are five such elective posts in the ITU Secretariat: Secretary-General, Deputy Secretary-General, Director of the Radiocommunication Bureau, Director of the Telecommunication Standardization Bureau, and Director of the Telecommunication Development Bureau.

The candidates’ visions of the future of ITU highlight what they consider to be the most crucial areas in today’s telecommunication environment and how they intend to address them, if elected.

The "public agenda" of each candidate may be found in a Questions and Answers format. For each post, the contributions are given in the alphabetical order. Photos of each candidate having responded are available on request from the Press Office.
