Joint Implementation Road Map for WSIS–GDC Coherence

In line with UN General Assembly resolution WSIS+20 outcome document (A/RES/80/173), para. 122, and ECOSOC resolution E/RES/2025/18, para. 133, UNGIS has been tasked with developing a Joint Implementation Road Map to be presented to CSTD at its twenty-ninth session in 2026.

The Road Map aims to enhance coherence between the WSIS process and the Global Digital Compact, supporting a unified and efficient approach to digital cooperation across the UN system while avoiding duplication and strengthening synergies.

UNGIS presented the Road Map at the 29th CSTD consultation session held on 21 April 2026, reflecting the collective input of its members and observers.
