This document is the official response submitted by the United Nations Group on the Information Society (UNGIS) to the WSIS+20 Review Elements Paper. UNGIS reaffirms its commitment to the WSIS vision of a people-centred, inclusive, and development-oriented Information Society, and supports efforts to ensure its continued relevance and impact in the context of rapid digital transformation.

  1. Recognition of UNGIS as a System-wide Coordination Mechanism
  2. Complementarity and synergies between the Global Digital Compact and the WSIS
  3. Reaffirming the Role of the WSIS Forum and multistakeholder participation
  4. Integrating and Strengthening Human Rights
  5. Advancing Gender Equality and Women’s Empowerment
  6. Strengthening Monitoring and Measurement
  7. Addressing Financing Needs and Learning from Past Mechanisms
  8. Investing in Digital Public Goods and Infrastructure
