SDG 5 underscores the importance of gender equality and the empowerment of all women and girls. Information and Communication Technology (ICT) plays a crucial role in this context by providing tools and platforms for women to access education, economic opportunities, and leadership roles. Despite progress, significant gender disparities persist in the ICT sector, necessitating continued efforts to promote inclusivity and empower women through technology.

The objective of this panel discussion is to explore the role of ICT in advancing Sustainable Development Goal 5, which aims to ensure women’s full and effective participation and equal opportunities for leadership at all levels of decision-making in political, economic, and public life. The session will focus on highlighting successful initiatives, discussing challenges, and sharing insights into how ICT can empower women and foster gender equality.
