Generative AI is more than only a tool - it can revolutionise your work and lifelong learning

This will be a very interactive session with lots of audience participation, with videos and demonstrations rather than formal presentations. The thematic focus of the session is emerging technologies that build capacity and can transform jobs. Generative AI has changed the world and puts enormously powerful AI capability in the hands of the Information and Knowledge Society.

  • Questions will be posed to audience on their use of the technologies in question, asking about their experience with it and doing a live demonstration of ChatGPT.
  • Is Generative AI (Gen AI) just a tool? A video showing the power of Gen AI will be shown. What about creativity – is this still a uniquely human trait or can Gen AI make us more creative.
  • What about using Generative AI in Education? Using metrics to ensure outcomes. Good advice and pitfalls. Explore audience experience in this context.
  • What is Microsoft’s approach to Generative AI. What other tools are available.
  • What is the upside of using Generative AI? How will the Generative AI wave disrupt the future of work including knowledge and creative workers? What type of jobs are at risk and how can we mitigate the impact?
  • The Ethics and multi-faceted implications of Generative AI . What are the ethical repercussions of using proprietary and copyrighted materials for training Generative AI?

Moira de Roche
Moira de Roche IFIP Vice President IFIP (Global) Moderator

Moira is a Vice President of IFIP (International Federation for Information Processing), and Chair of IFIP IP3. She was awarded the IFIP Silver Core in 2016 for service.  She believes that ethical behaviour and leadership are keystones of any profession and works to develop understanding of ethics and the value of the IFIP Code of Ethics. 

Moira is an accomplished speaker and has presented at conferences around the world.  Notably, she has attended and presented at the WSIS Forum since 2012. 

Moira is an independent consultant.  Her current work is focused on instructional design and online course development. She is involved with an organisation which focuses on ESG matters, developing resources to help anyone understand ESG and report successfully on their organisation’s achievements in addressing ESG.


Robin Raskin

Robin Raskin is the Founder of The Virtual Events Group, a community that explores how we will meet in a tech-first future. A long-time journalist, author, publisher, event producer, and industry advocate, Raskin was one of the early editors of PC Magazine, and one of the first women in technology publishing. She founded FamilyPC, and created Yahoo!Tech. In 2008 Raskin founded Living in Digital Times (LIDT), which was acquired by the Consumer Technology Association. She writes a weekly column about the intersection of technology and the economy for Techonomy. Raskin plays an active role in high-tech policy issues. She won a lifetime achievement award from the CTA in 2020.

Jo Dalvean
Jo Dalvean IFIP IP3 Deputy Chair IFIP (Global)

Jo Dalvean is Vice President of the Australian Computer Society (ACS), and member of the National Board. Her ACS portfolio oversees professional standards, course accreditation and professional ethics. She joined the IP3 Board in September 2022 as Deputy Chair. 

Jo has worked in Technical Management roles in universities for 20 years, including developing eLearning materials, implementing new technologies for Research and Teaching, and promoting Data Management standards. Her interests include improving the participation rate of Women in Technology, developing  badges and credentials for assuring the professionalism and capability of ICT professionals, and increasing the relevance of IFIP and IP3 globally.

Anthony Wong

Anthony Wong is the President of the International Federation for Information Processing (IFIP).

With his extensive background including as a technologist, innovator, futurist, lawyer and as a CIO, Anthony brings a unique blend of legal and information technology expertise, with a strong background in business from his vast commercial experience, law, business focus and acumen. 

He is the Managing Director of AGW Legal & Advisory, a multidisciplinary legal and advisory practice advising in many areas of emergent 4th Industrial technologies and the law including Artificial Intelligence (AI), Virtual and Augmented Reality, the Internet of Things (IoT), and Intellectual Property protection and management.

Anthony served on the IT Industry Innovation Council for the Australian Government. He also chaired the New South Wales Government ICT Advisory Panel, providing advice to the New South Wales ICT Board and served on the New South Wales Government Digital Transformation Taskforce in Sydney, Australia.
