users, Apollo Go not only advances mobility innovation but also drives applied research in AI,
human-machine interaction, and smart infrastructure with a clear focus on social responsibility.
Sustainable Cities and Communities: By equipping autonomous vehicles with intelligent arrival
alerts, zero-contact entry, and voice-first controls, Apollo Go makes urban mobility safer and Transport 4.10: Intelligent
more independent for visually impaired passengers—an often-overlooked group in traditional
transport systems. These inclusive solutions help break down barriers to city life, promoting
autonomy, social inclusion, and an improved quality of urban living that underpins resilient,
accessible communities.
23 Future Work
Apollo Go is committed to continuously enhancing its accessibility features.
The platform will continue to collect feedback from visually impaired users to drive feature
upgrades and improve its priority dispatch service for accessibility rides—helping to increase
travel efficiency. Apollo Go also plans to expand the number of dedicated pick-up points for
visually impaired passengers, based on user input, to better serve frequent travel scenarios
and provide more convenient and inclusive mobility services.
Apollo Go is dedicated to meeting the diverse mobility needs of the larger 1.4 billion population
in China. In addition to supporting visually impaired passengers, Apollo Go is also focused on
the unique travel needs of women, youth, children with autism, seniors, and sanitation workers.
• Recognizing women’s concerns about travel safety, Apollo Go has partnered with selected
women community organizations to launch the 'Safe Travel' public welfare campaign.
The initiative aims to establish supportive night-time stations that offer protection and
reassurance for women during evening commutes.
• For teenagers, Apollo Go supports their interest in science and experiential learning
by integrating autonomous driving technology into educational settings—offering real-
life case studies and practical platforms for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering,
Mathematics) education.
• Understanding the needs of children with autism for sensory-friendly environments and
social inclusion, Apollo Go uses autonomous vehicles to deliver a new kind of mobility
experience—combining accessibility with advanced technology to foster both comfort
and engagement.
• Apollo Go also addresses the needs of elderly passengers and sanitation workers. The
company launched a special “Respect for Seniors Week,” offering free rides to individuals
over 60 years old. During the hot summer months, Apollo Go also established cooling
stations to support frontline sanitation workers, providing a moment of relief amid
challenging outdoor conditions.
Apollo Go is committed to bringing warm, inclusive technology to everyone through human-
centered innovation.
3 Use Case Requirements
Apollo Go’s autonomous driving technology and sixth-generation autonomous vehicles ensure
safe and reliable barrier-free travel. To achieve this, the team needs to fulfil below requirements:
REQ-01: It is critical that autonomous driving systems possess a robust and scalable core
to support widespread real-world deployment. Building on over a decade of research and
