Marking the 160th anniversary of ITU's founding, the organization has unveiled a vision for the Digital Future, emphasizing six key areas: using space responsibly, building resilient connectivity, unlocking quantum potential, fostering global digital cooperation, greening digital technologies, harnessing AI for humanity. ITU-D is committed to bridging the digital divide, driving digital transformation, and promoting economic prosperity and sustainable development through ICTs. With the upcoming WTDC-25 in November 2025, this document proposes six recommendations to for ITU-D to play its role in realizing the digital future: strengthening the sharing of emerging digital technology solutions, promoting the adoption of emerging technologies in developing countries, accelerating development through digital technologies, fostering ICT talent, enhancing the formulation and promotion of ITU-D guidelines, and expanding industrial partnerships.
