Abstract :

This contribution features findings from the GSMA's recently published case study How the Mpola Mpola device financing scheme supports MTN Uganda's digital inclusion strategy. The case study features analysis of MTN Uganda's device financing scheme, which utilised strategic partnerships, handset subsidies, and flexible repayment schedules to make smartphones more affordable for low-income consumers. The case study concludes with recommendations for implementing holistic and effective device financing schemes.
