Abstract :

This contribution highlights the role of academia in advancing universal meaningful connectivity through research, capacity building, and international cooperation. It builds on the outcomes of the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Digital Transformation: Strengthening the Cybersecurity Capacities in the Modern World," held in Krak?w, Poland, on 4-5 November 2025 and co-organized by the State University of Information and Communication Technologies (Ukraine) and the University of the National Education Commission (Poland), with the support of the ITU Office for Europe, within the framework of the ITU Regional Initiatives for Europe.
This contribution also draws attention to the importance of taking into account state of art research in the context of the ITU-D Study Groups, while preparing for the second edition of the conference to be held from 17 to 18 June 2026 in Istanbul.
