Abstract :

This contribution was initially intended for Question 6/1 and Question 7/1 from the previous study period, which corresponds to Question 5/1 for the 2026-2029 study period.
In African ecosystems, people living with disabilities, and more specifically blind and visually impaired people, are still largely excluded from innovation, training and digital entrepreneurship policies. This is not due to a lack of potential or motivation, but rather to a lack of targeted policies, adequate resources and inclusive support mechanisms. Digital inclusion has become a major issue in an increasingly connected world, where access to information and communication technologies (ICTs) has become a prerequisite for professional, social and economic integration. It is precisely to this problem that EmpowerBlind provides a concrete answer, focused on people and technology.
