Strategic Foresight is a structured process that explores possible future scenarios and identifies emerging opportunities and challenges. Unlike rigid, linear planning methods, Strategic Foresight is an adaptive and iterative approach that transforms trends into actionable insights. It helps decision-makers navigate complexity, drive innovation, and remain competitive in an era of rapid technological, social, and economic transformation.
During its second meeting, held on 28 October 2024 in Valletta, Malta, the Board endorsed a roadmap for developing a compendium of topics to be featured in the Foresight Series. This series of reports envisions equitable futures, explores emerging scenarios, and provides strategic guidance to ensure that digital ecosystems remain ready and competitive in a rapidly evolving world. The selected topics aim to address key challenges and opportunities across different sectors, offering insights to inform and shape future actions.
