Inaugural Meeting of the Members of the Digital Innovation Board

19 20 March 2024 in Geneva, Switzerland

The Digital Innovation Board is one of the three main vehicles of the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Alliance for Digital Development, a flagship initiative of the Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The Digital Innovation Board and each of its esteemed Members will immensely contribute to shaping an inclusive digital future for all, as the Alliance aims to accelerate digital transformation by fostering local digital innovation and entrepreneurial capacities. Given the Alliance’s role in accelerating innovation capacities and creating linkages at the national, regional, and global levels, the Digital Innovation Board will have a global focus and impact. It will advise the Director of the Telecommunication Development Bureau on issues related to the Alliance and to innovation and entrepreneurship specifically.

To kick-off the activities of the Digital Innovation Board, the inaugural meeting of its members was scheduled for 19 and 20 March 2024 in Geneva, Switzerland.

Meeting Objectives

The main objective of this inaugural board meeting was to operationalize the board’s functions, and brief members on the progress that the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Alliance for Digital Development has made since its launch. A video introduction for each of the 17 ITU Acceleration Centres provided insights into their unique missions, visions, and their capabilities to contribute to the work of the Alliance. The board meeting provided a networking opportunity.

Participation in this meeting was by invitation only.
