The Network of Women in ITU-D (NoW in ITU-D) celebrates the power of ITU women delegates in driving positive change in the telecommunication development sector. Launched in 2021, the Network brings together professional women leaders who are committed towards building a more inclusive digital world. Through advocacy, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing, the Network plays a key role in empowering women to actively participate in decision-making within the telecommunication development sector. AI skills accelerator for girls

To enhance digital skills knowledge for girls and women on the latest trends in emerging technology such as Artificial Intelligence, the ITU Development Sector and EY have joined forces to implement “AI skills accelerator for Girls”, a 2-year programme to address the challenge of ensuring girls’ and women’s access to and use of the latest and emerging trends in technology for their socio-economic development. Her Digital Skills

The ‘Her Digital Skills Initiative is designed to equip girls and young women worldwide with digital skills to increase their opportunities to access formal employment and entrepreneurship. The initiative offers participants access to free, gender transformative, foundational digital skills training, e-skills badges, and e-mentoring. It was co-founded by EY, GSMA, ITU and W4 and has received support for development, implementation and roll-out from Qualcomm, Verizon, US State of Department and EIF. Read more
