Practical Information for WTDC-25 Participants

Travel and Arrival Information

The World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC-25) will be held on 17-28 November 2025, in Baku, Azerbaijan, and will be hosted by the Ministry of Digital Development and Transportation (Azerbaijan).

This guide provides all the essential details for a smooth arrival and transition from the airport to your accommodation and the conference venue.

Airport

Arrive at Heydar Aliyev International

Airport (GYD), ~20 km from Baku.

Customs & Docs

Have your passport, visa (or e-visa confirmation), WTDC-25 registration, travel insurance, and health documentation ready.

Transport Options

Taxis/Ride-Sharing: Licensed taxis; apps (Bolt, Yango, Uber) provide fare estimates.

Shuttle Services: WTDC-25 Organizers will arrange dedicated shuttle services for the registered participants staying at the 12 official hotels only. Look out for the shuttle signage at the airport arrivals area.

Public Transport: Baku Metro and Baku Buses are also available.

Dedicated Transport Services

Visa

Depending on your nationality, you may need to obtain a visa prior to arrival in Azerbaijan. Many travellers can apply for an e-visa online, which is usually processed within a few days. Please check with the official Azerbaijani e-visa portal or your local embassy for the most up-to-date requirements well in advance of your travel.

Check-In and Check-Out

  • Check-In: Typically starts from 2:00 PM. If you arrive earlier, most hotels will offer luggage storage until your room is ready.
  • Check-Out: Standard check-out time is 12:00 PM. If you require a late check-out, please coordinate directly with your hotel in advance.

The Conference Venue

WTDC-25 will be held at Baku Convention Center, situated in the heart of Baku.

Upon arrival to the Baku Convention Center, you will find a detailed digital conference venue map.

This map will outline: registration and information counters, main session halls and breakout rooms, networking areas, lounges, and refreshment zones, emergency exits and restrooms, nearby facilities such as cafes and restaurants.

Getting There

Six local transport hubs (final locations to be confirmed) will lie within a 2–5 minute walk of each official hotel. From the moment you arrive, clear, standardized signage at the airport arrival area and at official hotels will point you in the right direction.

Head to the dedicated Registration Desk located in the main entrance upon arrival at the Baku Convention Centre.
