Based on the successful experience of the TOSA line, the shift to a full network of electric buses
in the future has been adopted by the Canton of Geneva on December 2020, with an ambitious
action plan from 2024 to 2030.
Observations
• The ultrafast charging solution is reliable and adapted to the heavy urban large-capacity mobility
solution.
• The environmental benefits, particularly energy efficiency and noise reduction in the city, are
very high.
• The improvement of battery technology would allow for a decrease in the charging infrastructure
requirements along the line.
• Providing a solution from a single manufacturer would simplify the implementation and
deployment of the fast-charging electric bus solution.
