              Methodology       Calculate as:
                                Numerator: Total amount of freshwater consumption.

                                Denominator: Total amount of freshwater resources.
                                Multiply by 100.
              Unit              Percentage

              Data Sources      Information on volume of water from fresh water or intake sources can be received
              / Relevant        from city water utility/ies. Hydrological data could also be requested from the
              Databases         ministry of environment and national water authority.
                                Collection Method: This information can be gathered from:
                                1) Registers of treated water from water supply systems.

              SDG               SDG Indicator 6.4.2: Level of water stress: freshwater withdrawal as a proportion of
              Reference(s)      available freshwater resources.
             Verification       Check data sources.

                                NOTE:
                                Note carefully that this KPI is trying to determine the amount of freshwater used
                                versus the resources available.
                                Many times, this will be reported as the amount of freshwater as a percentage of
                                water consumption.
