Circular No. 013-2016 of the Central Bank of Peru (BCRP) regulates e-money payment agreements (known
as "APDE"). BiM is regarded as an APDE. Pagos Digitales Peruanos, which is the administrator of BiM, clears
payment transactions and calculates inter-participant positions on the basis of multilateral netting at the end
of each day. BiM participants that have direct access to the BCRP’s RTGS system settle their positions directly
in this system, while other BiM participants must be sponsored into settlement by a direct participant of the
RTGS system.
