P. 437
Based on this context, section 5 describes a number of examples of SSC services and security threats,
providing the reader with a series of practical recommendations aimed at countering potential
cyber‐vulnerabilities in those areas. Section 6 expands the technical architecture concepts by
analysing the different technologies components and their vulnerabilities. Section 7 details the
analysis by presenting the technical cybersecurity architecture of SSC.
Section 8 highlights the need for a SSC governance framework that provides, among others, the
leadership required for the design and effective adoption of cybersecurity and resilience approaches
in smart sustainable cities.
Building on this analysis, section 9 guides the reader through a series of key recommendations on
how to effectively maintain service continuity despite the occurrence of different types of incidents,
with varying levels of impact.
This Technical Report concludes by advocating cybersecurity and cyber resilience as vital ingredients
of SSC, and as part of the collaborative efforts between SSC stakeholders aimed at ensuring service
continuity, reliability, citizen privacy, and ultimately the achievement of SSC goals.
