c. Promotes agreements to be settled with companies that produce electronic
gadgets, to make them long lasting thanks to new technologies;
5. Suggests that United Nations member States establish a financial mechanism (subsidy)
for companies that will:
a. Encourage companies to recycle their electronic waste,
b. Help the ones that already recycle, to allow them to continue like this, but
c. Not penalize (i.e., impose fines to) companies that do not;
6. Offers assistance by ITU experts to countries which do not have legal systems to properly
recycle their e-waste, to find the best way to achieve this, in the specific context of the
country;
7. Urges governments to require producers to offer to consumers to take back their
products, free of charge, so they can be recycled as part of a certified e-waste
management system that:
a. Applies to both recycling and upcycling,
b. Ensures that facilities shall not access personal user data.
