Review
of ITU structure

Terms of Reference
At its 2003
session, the ITU Council resolved to create a group to review the structure of
ITU with the following terms of reference:
Consistent
with Resolution 106 (Marrakesh, 2002) and on the basis of the annex to that
resolution and contributions by Member States and Sector Members:
a)
review the functions of the three ITU Sectors in the light of the changes that
have occurred in the operation and regulation of the telecommunication sector at
the national level, and define the respective roles of the ITU constituents;
b)
consider the obligations of Sector Members that are not authorized operating
agencies and recommend appropriate measures;
c)
study the current structure, working methods and procedures of the ITU Sectors
and make recommendations as appropriate;
d)
submit a report to the Council containing in particular draft texts of the
related modifications to the Constitution and the Convention that may be used by
Member States in preparing their proposals to the next plenipotentiary
conference.
Participation
The group is
open to all Member States and Sector Members.

chaired by Mr. M. El Kadiri (Morocco)
