2.3 Draft new/revised Recommendations proposed for progressing
3. Possible new question
The Study Group 9 Management Team proposed a new question on Long Term Evolution (LTE)
for discussion. Mr Satoshi Miyaji, Vice-Chairman of SG9, presented the background.
In addition to LTE (3.9G), the next generation of mobile broadband (4G, a.k.a IMT-advanced)
as well as in-home broadband modems (e.g., MOCA, HPNA, G.9960) may also result in
considerable interference to existing TV, cable broadband equipment, etc.,
if these devices utilize the 700 - 900 MHz spectrum.
The meeting felt that such a new question will be one of the important work areas in
collaboration with other Study Groups, including ITU-R. In order to move forward,
it was agreed to invite the Study Group 9 members to provide a draft text of the new
question by the next SG 9 meeting planned in July 2010.
