Title

Roadmap development for digital terrestrial radio broadcasting roll-out in Thailand

Description

The National Broadcasting and Telecommunications Commission (NBTC) of Thailand has its mandates to put in place policy and regulatory frameworks and ensuring digital broadcasting services in Thailand. The International Telecommunication Union (ITU), pursuant to the outcomes of WTDC-2010, is also mandated to assist member countries and regulators in digital terrestrial radio roll-out.
Considering the above and in order for Thailand to roll-out digital terrestrial radio, ITU and NBTC are implementing a project on digital terrestrial radio roll-out in Thailand. Under this project, the following outputs will be delivered, among others:
- Revision and finalization of Roadmap for digital terrestrial radio roll-out in Thailand;
- Policy and regulatory frameworks for Digital Radio including spectrum-related and broadcasting service licence-related matters;
- Technical evaluation of a trial/pilot transmission of digital radio project in Thailand;
- Enhanced skills of the Office of NBTC, and other relevant local stakeholders.
