Title ITU NTC Training Program 2010 (Thailand)
Description National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), Thailand the Telecommunication Regulator has an ongoing endeavor to enhance the skills of its staff and the industry in various areas of telecommunication regulation and development. Based on the success of the training project for NTC that was carried out by the ITU in 2007, 2008 and 2009, ITU and NTC would like to continue the partnership to organize three training programs for its staff and other stakeholders in the areas of Insfrastructure Sharing, International Issues in Interconnection and IP Interconnection aspects. These training programs would be held between March and December, 2010 in Thailand.

Achievements

Enhanced participant skills in the area of Infrastructure Sharing, Satellite Registration Procedures, International Roaming and International Termination Charges.

1. Training Workshop on “Infrastructure Sharing”
The Workshop was held in Pullman Hotel, Bangkok, Thailand from 31st August – 3 September 2010 under the ITU Asia Pacific Centres of Excellence initiative.  The training workshop was attended by 86 participants (including speakers) from 16 countries viz., Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei Darussalam, Fiji, China PRC, India, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Thailand, Vanuatu and Vietnam. 
2. Training Workshop on Satellite Registration Procedures
This training course was held from 28-30 September 2010 at the Pullman hotel, Bangkok. NTC, Thailand kindly agreed to extend the course participation to Bangladesh. The workshop was  attended by 56 registered participants (53 from Thailand and 3 from Bangladesh). The workshop was carried out together with Radiocommunications Bureau of the ITU. 
3. Training workshop on International Roaming and International Traffic Termination
This workshop was organized under the ITU ASP COE initiative together with Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (ITU ASP COE Node on Policy and Regulation). It was held in Mariott Resort, Pattaya, Thailand from 5 – 8 October 2010 and was attended by 59 participants (including speakers) from 11 countries viz., Bangladesh, Brunei Darussalam, China PRC, India, Malaysia, Mongolia, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Thailand, United Kingdom and Vietnam.
