Training on the Bridging Standardization Gap

Project No 9RAS08028
Title Training on the Bridging Standardization Gap
Description The shortage of human resources in developing countries results in their low level of participation in the standardization process. WTDC-06, through adoption of Resolution 47 (Doha, 2006), and PP-06, through the revision of Resolution 123 (Rev. Antalya, 2006), instruct ITU to promote participation in relevant training courses and workshops. Meanwhile WTDC-06, through revision of Resolution 17 (Rev. Doha, 2006), called upon BDT to implement regionally approved initiatives at the national, regional, interregional and global levels. One of the five Regional Initiatives in the Asia Pacific region is “Strengthening the collaboration between ITU-T and ITU-D”.
Therefore, as the groundwork for “Strengthening the collaboration between ITU-T and ITU-D”, through this project, ITU will assist the capacity building in the Asia-Pacific region to understand ITU-T activities, by organizing the training course to bridge the standardization gap, in cooperation with the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), Japan.
