| Description |
The primary objective of the project is to support the Government of Jordan, in operationalizing its sectoral telecommunications Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT). This CIRT will serve as a trusted, central point of contact and coordination for cybersecurity, with the aim of identifying, defending against, responding to, and managing cyber threats within the telecommunications sector in Jordan. ITU will assist the Government of Jordan in building and deploying the technical capabilities and related capacity building necessary to operationalize its Sectoral Telecommunications CIRT. Thus, this project is expected to lead to the development of national cybersecurity capacity while enhancing Jordan's national cybersecurity posture by improving its ability to effectively respond to cyber threats, particularly within the telecommunications sector. Furthermore, it will facilitate the comprehensive growth of national cybersecurity capabilities while fostering enhanced collaboration at the national level within the cybersecurity landscape. This will be complemented by capacity-building measures and assistance extended to other countries in the region, with a special focus on Least Developed Countries (LDCs), where the Sectoral Telecommunications Computer Incident Response Team (CIRT) will be shown and a regional workshop will be held to transfer knowledge and best practices. |
