Title Centers of Excellence - Europe - Phase II
Description The Centre of Excellence Project aims at providing sustainable and long-lasting capacity building solutions for decision-makers and senior level officials in the Telecommunication Sectors in the region.

It aims at bringing into operation a network of excellence amongst content providers like universities, technological institutions, training centers, etc. as well as service and technology providers who wil provide on-line training solutions together with face-to-face workshops for decision makers and senior level officials in the telecommunication sector in the Europe region.

Achievements 30 training events were organized between 2009 - 2014 on

Telecommunication policy,
Regulatory issues,
Telecommunication management,
New technologies and services
with a view to adequately meet the human resources and training and development needs of the region. These CoEs also served to enhance the role of telecommunications and ICTs as a tool for development. Furthermore, the CoEs supported the work of the National Regulatory Authorities (NRA) in their efforts to effectively create knowledge economies and information societies throughout Europe. At all times the nodes seek to avoid duplication of efforts, and promote regional collaboration in the telecommunication sector among policy makers, regulators and the private sector to promote the harmonization of the region’s telecommunication markets.

Project Partners: Bulgaria, Greece, FYR of Macedonia, Poland, Romania and Turkey.
