Achievements

Agreements were signed with 9 out of 11 beneficiary countries. 

The installation of satellite connectivity was notable to have supported post disaster impact management. 

Solar solutions were also provided to counter the recurring costs of electricity. 

In total 94 satellite connectivity terminals provided to beneficiary governments  • 19 C-band Terminals • 35 Ku band Terminals • 40 Ka band terminals.

Technical skills development trainings were held, such as:

Two face-to-face trainings on different systems and online support for Ka band installations. 

The beneficiary governments also conducted training the local communities in the use of supplied IT equipment. 

The nominated technical staff in Ministries were trained to install 4 Network Management System (the satellite service providers have their own NMS capable to monitor the
connected VSATs).  


On the impact and business model strategies, a report was prepared and key considerations shared at the RDF-ASP 2020.
