API/C Special Sections

API/C – advance publication information for satellite networks subject to coordination

In accordance with No. 9.1A, the API basic characteristics, extracted from the requests for coordination received under No. 9.30 on or after 1 January 2017, will be published in a new "API/C" Special Section series with a new numbering series. The first batch of these Special Sections is available in BR IFIC 2850.

In accordance with No. 9.2C, any modification to a request for coordination involving the use of an additional frequency band or modification of the orbital location for a space station using the geostationary-satellite orbit will require a new API publication under No. 9.1A.
Consequently, for modifications to a request for coordination involving additional frequency bands, the additional bands will be published as a modification to the API/C Special Section.
For modifications to a request for coordination involving modification of the orbital location for a space station using the geostationary-satellite orbit, all frequency bands will be published as a modification to the API/C Special Section.

Special Section in PDF format

Similar to those advance publications for satellite networks subject to coordination that were published between 2015-2016 in accordance with Resolution 908, the API/C Special Sections in PDF format are freely accessible from the ITU SNL web site:

Data concerning the satellite network

Since the data for generating the API/C Special Section is extracted from the request for coordination, there will be no separate data distributed specifically for API/C Special Sections in the SRS_ALL database. The data for the request for coordination is available from the SRS_ALL database in the BRIFIC where the request for coordination is published. If the request for coordination is not yet published, the data for the request for coordination is available from the as-received website:

http://www.itu.int/net4/itu-r/res55asreceived/Publication/CoordinationRequest

API/A – advance publication information for satellite networks not subject to coordination

For those satellite networks or satellite systems not subject to the coordination procedures under Section II of Article 9, APIs will continue to be published as API/A Special Sections in accordance with No. 9.1.
