SESSION 1: Overview of the ITU-T and its activities, and of the WTSA-08.
Initiatives to increase participation in the standardization work from
developing countries.
Objectives: This session will provide an
overview of ITU-T the standardization sector of ITU. It will highlight
decisions taken by the Plenipotentiary Conference 2006 (Resolution 123) and
the main achievements reached at WTSA-08 including those to bridge the
standardization gap and to increase participation in ITU activities from
developing countries and academia.

SESSION 2: Resolutions addressed to Developing Countries
Objectives: This session will address the main difficulties raised by
Developing Countries regarding participation in ITU-T management, studies,
standardization and approval process. This session will address issues
dealing with the standardization gap and the need to ensure conformance and
interoperability of equipment. This session will also highlight ITU-T
initiatives in the Latin America region.
