At the kind invitation of the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC), ITU-T will organize a Workshop on Bridging the Standardization Gap, which will take place from 29 to 30 June 2010. On the following day, July 1, there will be an Interactive Training Session on a simulated study group meeting. The workshop and training session is being organized in association with the Telecommunications Technology Association of the Republic of Korea (TTA) and with the generous support of the Korea Communications Commission, Republic of Korea. The events will take place at the headquarters of the MCMC at 63000 Cyberjaya, Selangor, Malaysia.
Objectives
The workshop is designed to provide concrete advice and best practices on participation by developing countries in global standards development and building nation standards readiness. It will also examine standards work on key new technologies. The Training Session will provide an interactive learning experience through a simulated Study Group meeting. It will be of greatest interest to those who will be, or who have begun, participating in international meetings and those who have some international experience with plans to move into leadership roles.

The host will provide a bus to transport participants to and from the
meeting venue. The journey will take approximately between half an hour to
45 minutes. The bus will depart from the Grand Millennium Kuala Lumpur at
8:15 am sharp on 29 and 30 June and also on 1 July 2010.
