Training & Skills Development Centre Centre for Policy & International Cooperation |
The Centre has two distinct, but important functions: Security Assurance and Research. Security Assurance Division In partnership with leading ICT experts, IMPACT aggregates and develops global best practice guidelines, creating an international benchmark that is especially relevant for governments. This division conducts – upon request – independent ICT security audits on government agencies or critical infrastructure companies (e.g. national utility and telecommunication companies), thereby ensuring that these organisations subscribe to the highest security standards. The Security Assurance Division functions as an independent, internationally-recognised, voluntary certification body for cybersecurity. In partnership with Symantec Corporation (the provider of the automated security scorecard system for the US Federal Government), the Security Assurance Division establishs a Centre of Excellence for Government Security Scorecards – the first such centre outside the United States. There is already demonstrated interest from countries to implement a government-wide electronic scorecard system. In collaboration with ITU, this initiative can be extended to interested ITU Member States.
