In West Africa, 80% of information circulate via WhatsApp and social media, in a context where media literacy remains critically low. Disinformation about health, elections, and public affairs spreads unchecked, with devastating real-world consequences. Fact-checking tools exist, but they are scattered, technically complex, and not designed for West African realities.

Vérif'All is the first all-in-one mobile fact-checking application built for and with West African citizens. It centralizes all leading verification tools, image reverse search, video authentication, source analysis, and AI-generated content detection into a single, simple, and pedagogical interface available in French.

Born from field experience as a fact-checker with UNICEF Benin during the COVID-19 pandemic, Vérif'All transforms verification from a technical skill reserved for experts into a natural reflex accessible to all. Recognized by the Fondation de France's Déclics Jeunes 2025 award (€8,000), the project is set to launch in July 2026, with the ambition of reaching 300 million West Africans.

Vérif'All is fully replicable across any region facing similar disinformation challenges. The application's technical architecture is modular and adaptable, the verification tools integrated into the platform are not region-specific and can be deployed in any francophone or multilingual context. The model can be replicated in Central Africa, the Sahel, the Maghreb, or any other region where citizens lack accessible fact-checking tools. The Fondation de France's recognition of the project confirms its potential as a transferable social innovation model.

Vérif'All is built for long term sustainability on multiple levels. Financially, the project is developing a diversified funding model combining institutional grants, partnerships with media organizations, and training programs for journalists and civil society actors. Technically, the application is designed to be lightweight and low-cost to maintain, leveraging existing open-source verification tools rather than building proprietary infrastructure from scratch. Institutionally, the project is anchored in strong partnerships with the Fondation de France, UNICEF Benin, ensuring ongoing support and visibility. The growing community of users and advocates around Vérif'All creates a self-reinforcing ecosystem where demand drives continued development. Finally, the media literacy module embedded in the application builds long-term user autonomy, reducing dependency on external support over time.

Vérif'All promotes WSIS core values by democratizing access to reliable information for all citizens, regardless of education level or technical expertise. It strengthens freedom of expression and access to knowledge, two fundamental pillars of the Information Society by equipping West African communities with tools to identify and counter disinformation. The project advances digital inclusion through a free, low-bandwidth-compatible application designed for underserved populations. By building media literacy at scale, Vérif'All fosters a more informed, participatory, and democratic society aligned with the WSIS vision of a people-centred Information Society.
