Investments in Age Tech are making an impact on the pace and scale of innovations.  More attention is being directed to this industry segment for its potential to scale innovations to a growing global percentage of older persons with increasing tech needs and demands. Who is making these investments?  What are they focused on? What are the lessons for the new generation of tech entrepreneurs?


Michael W. Hodin
Michael W. Hodin CEO Global Coalition on Aging Moderator

 Michael W. Hodin, Ph.D. is CEO of the Global Coalition on Aging, Managing Partner at High Lantern Group, and a Fellow at Oxford University’s Harris Manchester College.  Mike is a Member of the Council on Foreign Relations, and from 2010 until 2013, was Adjunct Senior Fellow with a focus on population aging.  Mike was the recipient of the 2012 Fred D. Thompson Award from the American Federation for Aging Research.  He sits on the Boards of the Foreign Policy Association, Business Council for International Understanding, American Skin Association, American Federation for Aging Research and Emigrant Savings Bank.
 
Mike was a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Agenda Council on Ageing.  Prior to founding GCOA, he led International Public Affairs and Public policy at Pfizer for 30 years.  Mike began his career as Legislative Assistant to Senator Daniel Patrick Moynihan and during this time served as a Visiting Scholar at Brookings Institution. 


Kevin Crain
Kevin Crain Head of Retirement Research & Insights Bank of America

Kevin serves as executive business lead for research and insights for the Bank’s Retirement and Financial Life Benefits business. In this position, he leads a team of experienced professionals, who create and deliver research focused on workforce aging, longevity, benefits diversity and inclusion, employee financial wellness and other workplace trends. The team shares their research through research pieces and national/local market events for the Bank’s associates, advisors, bankers, individual investors, institutional clients and their employees.
 
Prior to this role, he served as the executive business lead for the delivery of Workplace Solutions through the Market Presidents organization, involved in the creation of the Employee Banking and Investing program and communicating workplace insights and thought leadership to the marketplace.
 
Previously at Bank of America, Kevin led Enterprise Financial Solutions and held leadership roles in Institutional Retirement. Including Integrated Benefits Product, Sales, Client Relationship Management and Plan Participant Solutions.
 
During his 40 year tenure in the financial services industry, he held a number of senior management roles with Putnam Investments, Fidelity Investments and Bankers Trust Company.
 
Kevin is Chair of the Age Friendly New York City Commission.
 
Kevin holds the Series 7, 24 and 66 registrations and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Georgetown University.


Abby  Miller Levy
Abby Miller Levy Managing Partner and Co-Founder Primetime Partners

Abby has spent her career helping businesses and consumer brands grow as an operator, entrepreneur and advisor, most notably in the wellness sector. Prior to Primetime Partners, Abby was an executive at SoulCycle, where she oversaw business development and revenue growth outside the consumer studio business, with an emphasis on building new digital products as the Senior Vice President of Strategy & Growth. Abby has also been a Founder herself, teaming with Arianna Huffington to launch Thrive Global, a behavior change technology company focused on employee productivity and wellness. Abby served as President of Thrive Global and remains on the Thrive Board. Abby began her career at McKinsey & Company then led product development at OXO International. She is a graduate of Princeton University and Harvard Business School. 


Alexandre Salvador
Alexandre Salvador Vice President and Global Head of Digital Solutions Business, Radiology Bayer Pharmaceuticals

In 2020, Alexandre Salvador joined Bayer to take over the responsibility for the newly established ‘Digital Solutions Business Radiology’ function within Bayer Pharmaceuticals.
Previously, Alexandre Salvador worked at CSL Behring, France/USA, where he held the position as Global Head of Digital Health. He holds a Master of Science Digital Signal & Image Processing and an MBA from HEC Ecole, Paris, France. In his career Alexandre Salvador gained broad experiences in the healthcare industry from positions with increasing responsibilities at different companies, e.g. Philips Healthcare and Agfa Healthcare and in hospitals in France and internationally.


Todd Haim
Todd Haim Director, Office of Strategic Extramural Programs, Division of Extramural Activities National Institute on Aging (NIH/NIA)

Dr. Todd Haim serves as the Director of the Office of Strategic Extramural Programs at the National Institute on Aging (NIA) which coordinates NIA training, career development and small business funding programs.  Todd leads the development of initiatives to foster and accelerate commercialization of innovative products that address aging and Alzheimer’s Disease as well as efforts to support career development of aging researchers. Under Todd’s leadership, NIA’s seed funding programs have grown to provide ~$150M per year in non-dilutive funding in aging research and dozens of awardees have raised significant follow-on investment, obtained key regulatory approvals, and/or reached commercialization. He oversees several efforts to elevate the impact of NIA’s small business seed funding programs (namely SBIR and STTR) and career development programs.  His previous position was Program Director at the National Cancer Institute’s SBIR Development Center. Todd graduated from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in January 2007 with a PhD in biomedical research and obtained a certificate in technology commercialization from John Hopkins’ Carey Business School in 2011.


Anthony Lambrou
Anthony Lambrou Director, Worldwide Innovation Pfizer

Anthony is a leader within Pfizer’s newly formed Digital Health and Medicines business, which he helped to developed, focused on accelerating commercialization of innovative digital health solutions that change patient lives. He is relentless is his pursuit of these breakthroughs and has been through his diverse experience at Pfizer with roles in Corporate Strategy, Global Innovation and Business Development. Prior to joining Pfizer, he spent a few years in strategy and management consulting.  With an undergrad in Chemical Engineering (Rensselaer) paired with an MBA (NYU Stern), Anthony brings a tangible and highly practical approach to implementing and leveraging innovation practices through strategic projects in the corporate setting.
