The U4SSC is the United Nations United for Smart and Sustainability initative. The State of Geneva (canton de Genève) recently passed the UN ITU U4SSC audit for Smart and Sustainable cities. We will share key findings from this verification. We will look at best practices your City & State can leverage from this exercise. We will share how the State of Geneva engages with Innovation stakeholders to address its most pressing sustainability challenges in the energy sector.

As the Director of Technical Innovation and Development  of solutions for the Smart City, Stuart is focused on innovation and solutions for Geneva that deliver sustainability and well-being, whether that be for individual customers, districts, towns or cities.


Louise Merifield

Louise is the Operations Manager & co-founder at SixSq, an Ekinops company. Louise combines her HR and Operations background with her pragmatic approach to drive SixSq’s agile, customer-centered engagements & culture.


Marc-Elian Bégin
Marc-Elian Bégin CEO Sixsq (Swizerland)

Marc-Elian Bégin is CEO and co-founder of SixSq, now an Ekinops company. Founded in 2007, SixSq helps customers build edge-to-cloud solutions to deliver real and tangible benefits to society. Marc-Elian holds a B.Eng. in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering from Ecole Polytechnique of Montreal. He has worked with the Canadian and European Space Agencies, as well as CERN, on distributed software systems, grid, cloud and edge computing projects, at scale.

Sixsq has been named one of the 100 edge computing companies to watch in 2023. Sixsq is a Ekinops company. 


Jonathan Koifman
Jonathan Koifman Head of Partners & Alliances TVP Solar

Jonathan Koifman works at TVP Solar, a Swiss-based designer, manufacturer and distributor of innovative high-vacuum solar thermal panels. Jonathan is the Head Channel Partner Development and Joined TVP in 2010; leading partner and channel sales development globally, as well as direct sales in the USA.

He has 12 years of experience at TVP building partnership programs, engagement processes linking sales with engineering, and tools. The network currently spans over 10 countries, with more than 15 partners. Previously he was Commercial & Investment Real Estate Sales Associate at CORE Group in New York (2009-2010), Capital Introduction Specialist /Marketing & Client Services at the Royal Bank of Canada (2007-2008) and Financial Analyst for International Real Returns (2005-2007).

Jonathan holds a B.S. in electrical engineering and a B.A. in English Literature, both from Bucknell University in Lewisburg (USA).
