This workshop series highlights the effects that the coronavirus pandemic has had on the work of various WSIS Stakeholders, whilst showcasing the role that ICT’s have played in developing solutions towards the unique issues the pandemic presents.

Dr. LIU Chuang is professor of Institute of Geographical Sciences and Natural Resources Research, Chinese Academy of Sciences, Director of Global Change Research Data Publishing & Repository, Editor-in-Chief of Digital Journal of Global Change Data Repository and Executive Chief Editor and Director of Journal of Global Change Data & Discovery. She is one of Co-PIs of the project of COVID-19 Knowledge and Data Hub project of joint action between China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) and Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS). She is Secretary General of Big Data Working Committee of Geographical Society of China, Co-chair of Data Publishing sub-group of CODATA Task Group in Developing Countries, Vice Chair of Expert Committee of China GEO and Member of Consultant Committee on ICT for the United Nations of China Association for Science and Technology. She got her Ph.D. in Department of Geography of Peking University in 1989. She was visiting professor of University of British Columbia, Canada (1992-1993) and Information Scientist of Center of International Earth Science Information Network (CIESIN), USA (1994-1998) . She got CODATA Prize 2008 in person and WSIS Prize 2018 (e-Science Champion) in project.
Yves Stephane NGALEU is an agriculture engineer and a social entrepreneur working for the amelioration of agriculture extension and advisory service. He is the founder of Enjeal Nys Agro, an organization that promotes youth leadership and entrepreneurship, and using ICT for agriculture development.

Aarti Holla has been Secretary General of the ESOA since 2004. She is a Member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Space Technology, Global 5G Coalition Network and Essential Digital Infrastructure & Services Network.
Under Aarti’s leadership, ESOA & its member CEOs lead the effort to showcase the benefits of satellite communications for a more inclusive and secure society - vital to bridging the world’s digital divide, achieving the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals and realizing the 5G ecosystem.
Since joining the association, Aarti has lead the expansion of ESOA from a European association to one that represents the interests of 20 global and regional satellite operators. She reports directly to their Chief Executives.

Mr Nabil Majoul is an ICT Expert with a focus in Digital Transformation and Data Analytics. He has over 30 years’ experience in in multiple industries and cultural environments.
Mr Majoul is passionate about visualisation and has been helping his corporate customers seeing and understanding their data.
A firm believer in Open data, he helped analysing data in multiple socio-economic domains (trade, debt, health, economy, etc.) collected from various sources (World Bank, International Trade Organization, national statistics institutes, open databases, etc.) used by various national and international organizations among others UNDP, Oxford Group, Tunisian Investment Authority, Tunisian Ministry of Health in the context of COVID-19, Central Bank of Tunisia..

Mario Franco is currently the Chairperson of Millennium@EDU SUSTAINABLE EDUCATION and the coordinator of the Sustainable@EDU PROGRAM which aims to make accessible information, communication and scientific technologies (ICSTs) in learning, education and inclusion under comprehensive initiatives with impact in local socio-economic development. The Sustainable@EDU PROGRAM is committed to contribute to the United Nations Secretary-General initiative “Education First” and to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Mario has been highly dedicated in developing sustainable finance models for education and ICT and participates in several different taskforces related to technology and finance such as the GPE - World Bank Global Partnership for Education Data Roundtable, created with the aim to define a Data Framework for Education and to help improve the management of Finance education. As manager of the eSchool Program, Mario worked with many companies, governments and institutions, in particular, he Chaired the World Telecommunication Policy Forum (WTPF-2009) organized by the International Telecommunication Union (ITU)
