International Girls in ICT Day – Expand horizons, change attitudes – Be in IT! - 26 April 2018 - is an initiative aimed to create a global environment that empowers and encourages girls and young women to consider careers in the growing field of ICT, thus enabling them to reap the benefits of greater female participation in the field of Information Technology and Communications. 

To celebrate this important day, the Ministry of Trade, Tourism and Telecommunications in the Republic of Serbia will organize the 8^th edition of the event that will encompass four panel discussions hosted by professional women in executive and managerial positions in private and public sectors on the following topics:  „She is a leader”, “Online is fine”, “STEM – then and now”, and “It is never too late to become an IT lady”. Panel discussions will be followed by a forum discussion "Is programming for boys or for girls?", where the present students will be able to share their opinions.

In addition, over 230 girls from 8 different elementary schools across Serbia will be present at the event, where they will present their short vlogs on the assigned topic, followed by an award ceremony for the best works.
