In the context of the International Girls in ICT Day 2020, AFRINIC is partnering with the World Wide Web Foundation to host an online dialogue on the topic ''Expand Horizons for African Women, Change attitudes in tech leadership.''
This Online conference is scheduled on Thursday 23 April 2020 from 14:00 to 15:00 (GMT) and will have as speakers 

  • Ms Nnenna Nwakanma, the Chief Web Advocate, World Wide Web Foundation;
  • M. Arthur Carindal Head of Stakeholder Engagement, AFRINIC;
  • M. Brice ABBA Community Development Manager, AFRINIC will also intervene during this event.

   The conference will highlight the following issues amongst others: 

   - African women are growing in use, but this is not enough, we need to move from being users to creators

   - Content is King and we need content that transforms

   - There is money to be made but we also need to tackle poverty, the challenges are many, but the opportunities are huge.

   - There is critical need in the ICT policy and decision making ecosystem in Africa, across the world and even at national levels. A few examples of places/positions are waiting for you

   - In this COVID19  crisis, there are many things you can do. There is huge reliance now on the digital community, you are needed now, you will even be needed more after COVID. Position yourself for impact and transformation.Today.
