                           the future of innovation

            The GSS-24,
Recalling that international standards can play a vital role in supporting countries, cities and industries in
driving innovation and the adoption of emerging digital technologies,

                 - Aims to provide a platform to engage in a unique dialogue on innovative ecosystems, and
harnessing emerging digital technologies including artificial intelligence (AI) and the metaverse,
                     and their enabling technologies.

                 - Recognizes the Global Digital Compact's emphasis on international cooperation, highlighting the
importance of emerging digital technologies, including AI in driving digital transformation, and
reinforcing the need for international standards.

                 - Seeks to leverage standards developed by ITU, IEC, ISO and other SDOs to help build a shared
vision on the future of emerging digital technologies and set out a roadmap for sustainable
                     digital transformation.

                 - Calls for ITU to play a key role, together with IEC, ISO and other SDOs, and contribute actively to
the development of standards that can support a sustainable digital future, and also support the
evolving needs of digital public infrastructure.

                 - Acknowledges that the theme of the World Standards Day for 2021 to 2030 is a “Shared vision
for a better world” and that the #Standards4SDGs campaign promotes the value of standards as
tools to accelerate action to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
