This contribution proposes the attached text as the baseline for further development of draft new Recommendation ITU-T L.S_AI. It updates the working draft presented to Q6/5 on 23 September 2026 (Doc06). L.S_AI sets out how actors choose measures to reduce the environmental impact of AI systems, record their decisions and substantiate reduction claims. It complements ITU-T L.1801, which sets out how the environmental impact of AI systems is assessed. The requirements cover records, impact figures and claims; the mitigation techniques are informative. The draft has been simplified and edited for readability. A draft Supplement is attached for information and is intended for separate publication.
