Résumé :

This contribution shares Zimbabwe's experience concerning consumer representation and meaningful digital accessibility, with particular reference to civil-society participation and the use and availability of assistive technologies. It identifies challenges related to consumer awareness, accessibility of digital services, availability and affordability of assistive technologies, and access to digital services in underserved areas. Drawing on this national experience, the contribution presents elements for consideration by Question 5/1, including multi-stakeholder approaches to consumer protection, accessibility considerations for digital services and educational environments, and approaches that may facilitate access to assistive technologies for persons with disabilities and persons with specific needs. The Zimbabwean experience is presented as a national case study from which Member States and other stakeholders may identify lessons and good practices applicable to their respective contexts.
