Résumé :

In disaster situations, telecommunications become survival tools as they make it possible to contact the emergency services, receive alerts (SOS), coordinate responses, locate victims, transmit health guidelines and maintain essential services.
Across the CEMAC (Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa) zone, which is prone to river floods, flooding, landslides, power outages and fibre disruption, the issue is not simply to disseminate alert messages, but to ensure that networks remain available when a disaster strikes.
ITU recalls that emergency telecommunications play a critical role immediately after a disaster, as they allow public authorities and relief organizations to communicate quickly, share information, and restore vital links.
