Résumé :

Given that Resolutions 43 and 77 (both Rev. Buenos Aires, 2017) have a similar thematic orientation - the development of modern telecommunication technologies for broadband communication, including international mobile telecommunications (IMT) - it is reasonable to conclude that they are largely similar. At the same time, neither WTDC resolution has been updated for a considerable time. In light of this, it seems appropriate to update the WTDC resolutions on broadband access to reflect the latest outcomes of the Radio Assembly (RA) and the World Telecommunication Standardization Assembly (WTSA), in order to optimise the WTDC resolutions on broadband access, which cover modern networks and communication systems of the IMT family (IMT-2020 and IMT-2020). Combining the key provisions of the resolutions would eliminate redundancy and strengthen the integrated approach to developing broadband communication and IMT, ensuring the ITU's digital development goals are implemented more effectively. Therefore, suppressing WTDC Resolution 43 and integrating its key elements into Resolution 77 will reduce the number of documents that member states need to monitor and simplify the process of implementing WTDC-25 decisions.
