Abstracto :

This contribution provides motivation why designed router capacity (FIB capacity and ACL capacity) is one of the useful works that has significant impact on the power draw in IP network scenario, and therefore should be considered as optional influence factor in the multi-dimensional EER for the IP network scenario in L.FNEE. In particular, based on previous technical contributions to the work item the contribution discuss differences in power draw of FIB (Forwarding Information Base) table features and the analysis of application scenarios for high-capacity FIB table entries. The contribution is a re-worked and extended version of document EEPS(25)EEPS#68000009 from EEPS#68 meeting (Doc02 in ITU-T Q6/5 e-meeting 19 November 2025).
