Smart technologies are an important way to drive agricultural upgrading and improve overall farm productivity. China has carried out a series of practical explorations in using artificial intelligence to boost agricultural development. To meet the needs of typical scenarios across the whole agricultural industrial chain, AI works closely with technologies like the Internet of Things (IoT) and big data. It has gradually expanded to cover production areas including crop farming, forestry, livestock breeding and fisheries, and formed many proven application cases with different scales and types of producers. There are still challenges in AI-enabled agriculture, such as adapting to different scenarios and sharing data across systems. China's practical experience in rolling out solutions can serve as a useful reference for countries around the world, especially developing nations, to advance AI-driven agricultural transformation.
