Abstract :

This contribution presents the experience of NextGen, the institutional umbrella programme launched by the Libyan Technology Foundation to promote digital literacy and develop nascent leadership and digital skills among children and adolescents (7-17 years old) in cooperation with partner schools in Libya. This contribution focuses on the CyberKid cybersecurity awareness-raising workshop, which was aimed at the 9-12 year-old age group. It adopted a storytelling, interactive style, with a guiding character and real-life scenarios, to introduce children to the concepts of digital safety. In parallel, another workshop sought to empower parents with tools for parental control. This contribution presents the approach to implementation and the outcomes of the initiative. It proposes the adoption of the implementation model as a repeatable good practice among the outputs for Question 5/2.
