This contribution highlights the initiative undertaken by the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania to expand broadband connectivity to underserved and rural areas through the Universal Communication Service Access Fund. The Government implemented a project for the construction of 758 telecommunications towers through the Digital Tanzania Project. The successful completion of the project has enhanced access to reliable communication services, promoted digital inclusion and created opportunities for socio-economic development. The contribution shares experiences, challenges and lessons learned as part of the ongoing studies under Question 1/1.
