This contribution was initially intended for Question 4/1 and Question 5/1 from the previous study period, which corresponds to Question 4/1 and Question 1/1 for the 2026-2029 study period. While information and communication technologies (ICTs) are useful for development, much remains to be done to bridge the digital divide that exists between developed and developing countries. High speed Internet access is essential for accelerating economic growth and development, especially in the health and education sectors. ICTs clearly improve people's quality of life and contribute to achieving the Millennium Development Goals.
